SPRING SEASON
General Information
Boys Spring Hockey Program
The spring season at York Hockey Club offers a combination of skill development, teamwork, and competitive play, led by our Varsity and JV coaching staff. There will be two Varsity teams and one JV team, with each player guaranteed to play in four games against other area high schools, including the SHL and AHL.
Practices are held on Mondays, with home games on Wednesdays and occasional weekends. The practices focus on key fundamentals such as body contact, game strategy, and offensive and defensive skills.
TRYOUTS - ADDISON ICE ARENA
Monday, March 17th:
• Incoming Freshman / Sophomore 8:00 - 9:00 PM
• Incoming Junior / Senior 9:10 -10:10 PM
Wednesday, March 19th:
• Incoming Junior / Senior 4:30 - 5:30 PM
• Incoming Freshman / Sophomore 9:10 - 10:10 PM
During tryouts, York's coaching staff will assess players to determine team assignments. If selected, players will be placed on teams based on their skill level, creating balanced and competitive matchups with opponents of similar ability.
Please note that roster spots are not guaranteed for all interested players, nor is placement on a preferred team assured.
SCHEDULE
Boys Spring Hockey begins Monday, April 7th and runs through Wednesday, May 21st. Each team will play approximately 10-12 games, with every player guaranteed to compete in at least 4 games.
MONDAY PRACTICES:
• Varsity Black 4:10 - 5:10 PM
• Varsity White 8:00 - 9:00 PM
• JV 9:10 - 10:10 PM
TUESDAY GOALIE SKILL DEVELOPMENT: (7 sessions included in Spring fees):
• 8:50 - 9:50 PM, Willowbrook Ice Arena
WEDNESDAY HOME GAMES:
• 9:05 - 10:35 PM, Addison Ice Arena
In addition to the scheduled away games, there will also be some home games on Friday nights.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER
Registration is open to all current Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors at York High School, as well as current District 205 8th graders who plan on attending York in the fall.
FEES
Spring Registration Fee: $750
New Player Uniform Fees:
• Jerseys - $50 (approximate)
• Socks - $46 (approximate)
Uniform fees will be billed separately from registration.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
New players are required to purchase jerseys and socks. Orders will be taken once Spring Rosters are released.

If a player is not placed on a Spring roster, they will be refunded $650 ($750 minus the $100 tryout fee).
